Why Is Our World So Big Mum?

Someone we know has gone on a holiday.
For the purpose of this exercise, we will call her Shirley.
I am taking the opportunity to turn Shirley's trip into a bit of a Geography lesson.
See our Shirley doll there below, bluetacked to our very large map.
Shirley is in Rome. Rome is in Italy.
They speak Italian in Italy and they invented pizza and spaghetti.
Lesson one over.

I am getting all sorts of unexpected questions though.
Why is our world so big?
Do they speak Spanish in England?
Can we go to China?
A very long time ago there were Chinese people.
(Yes, there still are Chinese people.)
Wow, really!
