It's A Nanny Mouse

Well it is unanimous minus 1.
Alice gets the flick and watering can it is.

Carol said...I like the watering can..... good luck.

Mandy said...I do love Alice...but I think the watering can is cuter..sorry Alice;)

Leonore said...Are you  taking Alice with you to the stall?
If so the swing tags should be “Sunnyside Samantha”. If not then I think the watering can,
without Alice being there it would look like just any face.

Amanda said...Depends on what you're selling lovie.
More information please. Is it clothes (etc) or gardening stuff?
My first reaction before asking this question was to go with the watering can cause you ARE Dirtgirl.
Your Alice tags look abit creepy to me ;).
Come to think of it, so does the extra sister thing as well  :D
... also, people associate you more with the can :D

Mardi said...The CAN !!
The other one of Alice will look like it is you .....because of the name and then the face, go the can ....
Oh and I am ELECTRIC !!! think you got it wrong lol

Mary said...Dear Sam,  I like the watering can.  It's more appealing and 'marketable'.
 Definitely the watering can

Trish said...The watering can suggests rustic, farmers markets, home made but I think I prefer Alice ( a bit kooky)

Bill and Joan said...After some debate about your dilemma, we have come to the conclusion that it should be the watering can. It seems that Alice is of significance to you and to those who know you but is that going to be true of your customers? The other thing is perhaps "Sunnyside Sam" seems better than "Sunnyside Samantha" - something to think about!

To Market, To Market To Buy a Fat Pig

OK everyone, I need your help.
You are a pretty eclectic bunch reading this, or should I say eccentric!?
I want to get a stamp made up to put on swing tags.
My first market is in 3 weeks.

Do I go with a generic, but cute watering can...
or do I go with Alice?

For those of you who don't know Alice.
This is Alice.

She has been at the holiday house in Rye forever.
One would assume she was once a shop mannequin
but she retired to the beach when we were kids.
Alice has come to live with us and my kids are pretending she is their sister,
just like we did 30 years ago.

Alice is coming out of retirement to model my aprons and bits and pieces.
I will give more details on the market stall in a week or so.

So quick, do I go Alice or the can?

Bean Tee-pee (pea?)

How to build an edible tee-pee.
Hammer some heavy stakes into the ground and join at the top.
I used some thick wire just because I had it.

Plant some bean seeds around each pole.
I did this several times due to hungry snails.
Hold off watering until beans start to appear.

Stand back and watch them grow.

It is now pea planting time.
Why not try one yourself.

Yards and Yards of Lovely

 I bought some fabric today.
It may have been the fact that Pip was wearing a raggedty Cinderella dress,
or maybe it was my less than obvious checking out of the woman's tattoos.
Perhaps the wind was blowing in the right direction or something,
but the shop lady told me that a large bundle of lace had been handed in at a certain op shop in town.
Someone she knew, said it was still out the back...
Needless to say, I was there in a flash and bought the lot.

Mmmmm.
Oooohhh!
Aaahhh!
Oh!
Yes.
Great.
Lovely.

Sewing Class and Expectation Slide

I had an idea for a business project.
Running craft classes as bonding and sharing experience
for parents and preschoolers.
The projects need to be simple enough that they can be finished fast.
Cute enough to spark desire and of course, worthwhile.
I have a notebook and head full of ideas...
Before I put anything into action I need guinea pigs...
may as well use my own I guess.
Will it work? Is it achievable?
This morning I fed my own little girl guinea pig,
made a batch of play dough and whilst she played happily
I set up all the things I thought I would need to make a little purse.

"Einee menee minee mo."

Purple!

Threading the needle proved to be tricky.

Then, the fat needle and wool would not pull through the felt.
I swapped it for a sharper, longer needle and embroidery thread.

4 txt messages and a call from the bank lost the momentum.
A visitor sealed the fate of the purse that was not to be.
Pip asked me to finish it as it was my birthday present.

She did place the flowers and buttons onto the upturned needle.

A few stitches more and Voila!
I made a purse for myself for my birthday.

I will experiment on Pip's kinder class and see how the projects go.

The Christmas Card Shoot.

The photos that didn't make the cut!

* Note the lollies we had to use to keep them still long enough to get 1 good shot!
The chicken was the only one to co-operate.
